Finally!

I heard back from the mutherfucker, I mean doctor. Actually, he was very nice and apologized for not getting back to me. He said he never got the message so I politely told him that the processes in place in that office are horrible and that he really needs to work on it. He agreed and said he would. We have him a bit confused - he's not quite sure why Dylan is doing this. He said that babies will bang their heads when they are in pain. I'm wondering if this could be from teething. He asked me to give him tylenol for the next 24 hours to see if that makes a difference. I ran down to the day care and gave him some tylenol and got me some baby lovin. I feel a little better but I'm still on edge.

Julie-I know nothing about this or babies but my first thought was maybe he has an ear infection. I know they are common in little babies. Also my dog shakes his head and scratches his head and ears when he has water in his ears....I hope the tylenol does the trick-way to go after those Drs!!

Oh man. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. Poor Dylan. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery from whatever is bugging him!

Savanna is banging her head too but not against anything. Does Dylan cry when he is "head banging"? (this was not said to be funny BTW). Tylenol has helped Savanna. Assvice-- get another doctor. You HAVE to be able to rely on a doctor who will call you back (or an RN) asap.

Sorry Dylan and you are suffering. Hope the next time I read your blog you will have some answers. If not KICK SOME SERIOUS ASS!

Sounds like an ear infection to me. Sometimes babies don't show any other symptoms such as fever or crying. I would take him in for a quick checkup.

  5. He doesn't cry at all. Sometimes he just looks at me and smiles. It's crazy!

He just had an ear infection and was just seen last Wed and his ears were clear. He finished his antibiotic this morning in fact.

I allow for one mistake - this doc's office has made it. We'll see where we go from here.

    Thanks everyone!

Man... Sounds like the doc needs a kick int he balls, or at least his office proceedures do.
I'm thinking of you and Dylan. Much love and healing.

  7. Way to go, mama! Always go with your gut feel. Nobody knows your baby like you do.

  8. Yikes, that's scary stuff. My daughter tried banging her head a few times (something kids with Down syndrome can be "afflicted" with) but hers was behavioral. A few stern "No's" and she gave up on trying. THANKFULLY!

But it is usually a sign of SOMETHING, which is terrifying. The problem is, what IS the something? I'm hoping it's teething for your little guy!!

  9. I hope it's just something like teething that's causing him to act that way. Let us know if the tylenol helps!
