3 Months Ago Today

Our boy came into this world. Gd I just wish I could go get him already! We received an update with a medical report and photograph and instead of making me happy, it made me a bit sad. He's smiling in the photograph. I don't know who he's smiling at (probably his foster mother) but it's not me or Marc. Was this his first smile? What other milestones have we missed? Ok, I'll fess up, the wait is really starting to get to me. I know that in a few months this will all just be a fading memory but it hurts so much right now. Thank you all for your input in my last post. It gave me a lot to think about and I'm sure if I'm ever in public and see a blended family - I will probably keep my mouth shut.

Julie....since I am not in my "wait" yet I can't say I know how you feel but...myabe try to remember that he will have a 1st smile at you, a 1st giggle when you tickle his feet, a 1st cry that brings you to him in the middle of the night and a million other firsts that will be for just you and Marc. Also, it's quite possible that he wasn't smiling at anyone but that he was smiling because he farted!!! Okay..poor humor to try to make you feel better. Someone told me that they never remember anything but that you are his mom. big hugs...chrissi

I can just imagine how hard it is. You will get many firsts though - but I know it is hard to miss even one.
I hope that you are able to bring him home very, very soon.

  6. Happy 3 months Dylan. I'm so sorry about the waiting....its so damn hard. I agree with what Chrissi said though, you will get all of those first too and many many more. You will get a new first every single day. I know that doesn't help right now while you are in agony waiting though. I bet that little guy looks amazing smiling.

Don't forget about your first poopy diaper...first sleepless night....I know, you are looking forward to those things too....as am I! We'll get all our firsts!! Oh - and you know why he is smiling.....cause he knows he's got the best mommy and daddy waiting for him!!!
